Yiddishland California

Website audit and UI redesign.

Project Specs

Duration: 3 Months

Platform: Web

Programs: Figma, WordPress, Google Drive, Illustrator, Photoshop, Zoom, Optimal Workshop, Google Forms

Project Roles & Contributions:

  • Project Lead: I organized meetings, research, and the design process. As new team members were added to my team, I onboarded them and assigned tasks. When deadlines arrived, I presented the work and discussed critiques with the Founder of Yiddishland, Jana.

  • Lead Designer: I designed the first 3 drafts of the new mobile navigation on Figma and invited new team members to create new iterations based on feedback. When their drafts were done, we would meet over zoom critique the new drafts, and finalize design plans. As the project lead, I had final editing and approval before presenting work to Jana. Because the team was constantly changing, I designed the Yiddishland Design System to ensure consistency and easy onboarding not only throughout my project, but for the entire website redesign and the future of Yiddishland California.

  • Lead Researcher: Before new members were added to the project, I started my project by conducting secondary and primary research. I recruited participants to test the website usability and to test the UI improvements throughout the design process through remote user testing.
